West Arm Truck Lines is the premier freight service provider in Southern British Columbia and Alberta. We provide overnight LTL service to all major centres in these areas. Well maintained, late model equipment and the most up to date computer technology allow the people of West Arm Truck Lines to deliver on commitments to our customers.

History
The roots of the current company begin in 1952. On his return from WWII service with the RCAF, Alec Maclean started a freight service for the communities and industries along the West Arm of Kootenay Lake. Named for this heritage, West Arm Truck Lines was incorporated in 1967. Steady growth through expanded service, acquisition and partnership has resulted in an expansive direct regional service with terminals in Castlegar (head office remains in the West Kootenay), Vancouver, Kamloops, Kelowna, Cranbrook, Sparwood, Spokane, Calgary and Edmonton. Alliances with partner carriers give us the capability to pick up and deliver freight throughout North America and beyond.

Safety Policy
West Arm Truck Lines has accepted the responsibility to provide the shipping public with quality service and to ensure that only qualified and professional drivers are employed by the Company.

We demand that all our drivers/owner operators maintain a high level of professionalism, observe all laws and regulations, help maintain all operating equipment in a safe condition, provide general highway users with courteous behavior, and maintain a healthy attitude towards their profession: a Professional Driver.

Concern for the health, safety and well being of our employees, customers, and the public will continue to be a major commitment at West Arm Truck Lines Ltd.   All drivers must comply with the National Safety Code rules and regulations and for our Alberta employees the Alberta Hours of Service legislation.  Drivers will take a Professional Drivers Improvement Course as determined necessary by Company Management.

To ensure consistent Customer Service, in 2002 the Company decided to create a Quality Service Manual, now known as our QSM. This project was undertaken to ensure a standardized method of handling freight.  The ultimate goal of West Arm Truck Lines will always be: On Time Delivery, fewer freight claims, and more satisfied customers.
